Inductive reasoning is that way of thinking that makes you derive universal conclusion starting from a particular observation. It is a powerful propaganda tool, it is very seductive, and widely used by the media: it deliberately misrepresents ‘what is typical’ with ‘what is possible’. In the case of the Down syndrome above, for example, leads most people who do not have any direct experience of the disease to believe that the possibility that a person suffering from the syndrome might live a normal life depends only on external conditions, thus belittling the real difficulties that have to be faced when trying to achieve a degree of social inclusion for them.
